I.
Pre-Exam Plumbing Classes – (For Tradesman or Journeyman Plumbers)
Program includes 5 nights of 3 hours each, 15 hours, on Licensing Law,
Codes and related information in preparation for the written portion of the
examination. Program includes one night, 3 hours, on piping a house and
soldering for the second portion of the examination. Classes are held every other month beginning January 20th
with 10 or more students registered for the class.
II.
Continuing Education
Continuing Education classes are listed in our
magazine and conducted by our State Association, Texas PAMCA. Includes book with
class.
III.
Apprentice Plumber Training
The current plumbing law includes the recommendation that the Plumbing
Board may offer apprentice plumber training. The Legislature has stressed their
desire for this training. If it is
determined to conduct this training PAMCA is the only plumbing association with
a complete & prepared training program to meet this need.
IV.
Seminars and Programs
Programs – Each month PAMCA conducts some type of program, event or
activity. These allow contractors the opportunity to interface for peer
relationships. The programs as offered address contractor needs, i.e.,
insurance, liability, materials, code issues, legal issues (for example the new
employee negligence state law).
Seminars – Periodically the association will
conduct special seminars such as: The Plumbing Code, or The Mechanical Code.
PAMCA is the only plumbing trade association in the United States with a
Certified Apprentice Plumber program.
The Texas Legislature has enacted a bill requiring
Continuing Education for HVAC Licensees. PAMCA is prepared to be a Provider and
implement this program. We have instructors and locations already committed.
II. Certified Air
Conditioning Technician (CAT)
PAMCA is the only HVAC and Mechanical contractors
association with a certification program for air conditioning technicians.
PAMCA has provided programs for AC Technicians and
Contractors such as:
The City of Houston Mechanical Code.
PAMCA offers a HVAC Contractor Management Program to increase the
professionalism of the HVAC contractor. Subjects include: company structure,
legal issues, tax issues, insurance issues, utilization of computerization,
marketing and employee relations.
